Sometimes the internet is a cesspool of evil and hatred, but sometimes it is cool especially when Howard Chaykin is on it. Meanwhile... Andy Tom asks our Hero about legacy characters, the Batman family and how it could be a model for Marvel to appease both longtime fans and new readers. Finally Sal gets into an article about ‘Podcasters of Color’ and their goals.

On a very gender nonspecific episode, Sal cracks down on Cage #1 and Batman Beyond: Rebirth #1 and flips the format of #TopoftheStack with talk about Timeless on NBC and Westworld from HBO. We get deep discussion on the nature of storytelling and the ideas of humanity. #NerdRage continues the Cage with Luke Cage being both too black and not black enough, Wonder Woman being queer but not queer enough, and Vampirella being irrelevant but still porny. We finish off with making fun of various panels at NYCC and useless rambling about Paul Poes.

On the new (it's not a re-launch) Big Geek Show episode, host Brion Salazar introduces himself, and then launches into an almost two-hour marathon of geeky goodness. First up books of the week, including Batman #5, Superman #5, Black Hammer #2, and The Paybacks #1. then a quick review of the Suicide Squad movie before finishing up with a little Nerd Rage of the Week with topics about when fandom goes too far, overattachment to characters and whether or not art is about surrender.

We made it through in one piece. One down, and a crap ton more to come.
